This may be among the first films to use the new Empire State Building (it opened May 1, 1931) as a story locale. It has its interest moments but a poor

sound track makes for some uncomfortable watching.
Yes, according to the IMDB that is Walter Brennan in an uncredited role as a "Mechanic". So Manhattan Tower gives us a rare early glimpse of an eventual multiple Oscar winner (three times) who had an amazingly long and diverse career in films as well as in television (one Emmy).

I have acquired a shortest clip of 35mm nitrate film of this movie. It's "Manhattan Tower", so then I search for it and here that I go. Well, the ending
...
of the crim victim fell over to the ground nearly at end of this so-so movie, is badly done. A bit more 'action-cut' effect would be better enough, as par of the climax editing similar to many other Hollywood outings.

This is a good one.
I could swear that was Walter Brennan in the last few seconds there.
It's just for fun.

Exterior and lobby shots of the ESB. Some very amusing views on human behavior. Also a not so subtle propaganda message about personal banking. I'm old

enough to have had parents that remember the Depression and seeing this movie makes me appreciate what's left of the New Deal.

From the "Fogguy"- Not bad, shows everyday life in the early 30's of NYC in what probably was the new Empire State Bldg. It also shows how shaky the
...
business world was after the "cash" of l929.
A little dated as to the "slang" of the day, but all in all crime, romance, and office life of the 30's in a what was then a hectic world before modern computers and communication.
